Improving Natural Habitats
We work with property owners, remediation experts and scout groups to enhance & improve our protected habitats. Recent projects include constructing ephemeral ponds to support early spring amphibian biodiversity and a 2+ acre wildflower meadow to support bird and insect diversity along Mud Creek.
We also work to remove invasive species such as garlic mustard and bush honeysuckle from our protected habitats. These activities increase the likelihood that native species will flourish and enhance the habitat's biodiversity.
In conjunction with the Sargent Road Association's Litter Busters program, property owners are encouraged to help with roadside litter removal. This helps keep the watershed pristine & natural and limits the amount of refuse lining our protected habitats.
